Well all of us saw that coming but still it is sad to announce that Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 release date has been officially postponed due to COVID-19 outbreak. The film was originally scheduled to release on July 27. The official twitter account shared a statement which reads:

We have decided to postpone the theatrical release of Shin Evangelion (Evangelion: 3.0+1.0) which was scheduled to release on Saturday, July 27, 2020.
We deeply apologize to everyone who was looking forward to film.

The official announcement came with a new key visual which comes with a English tagline “Bye-bye all of EVANGELION” with a new title: Evangelion: 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon A Time.

The staff will reveal a new Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 release date once it has decided.
Directed by Hideoki Anno and produced by Studio Khara, Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 is the last installment of four part rebuild of Evangelion film series which retells the story of Neon Genesis Evangelion. The first three films Evangelion: 1.0 You Are [Not] Alone, Evangelion: 2.0 You Can [Not] Advance, and Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, debuted in 2007, 2009, and 2012.
Rebuild of Evangelion can be described as “Otherworldly beings called “Angels” are attacking the ravaged city of Tokyo-3. A mysterious UN-controlled organization called NERV, under the watch of the enigmatic Gendo Ikari, fights off the angels using the hulking Evangelion units, one of which is piloted by Gendo’s reluctant, angst-ridden son, Shinji.”
